The wreck of the ten sail is the most famous shipwreck in the history of the islands. In Februray of 1794 during the French Revolutionary War a convoy protecting French ships ran into a reef 200 yeards off shore while fog made sailing difficult. The group of ten travelling veery close together all wrecked one after the other. Morning light revealed ten wrecked ships.
